Encrypt and secure documents and password files

Create and Securely save a password file
Since the creation of computers, technology and the Internet nothing has ever been more important that making sure our passwords are secure and in some cases files and documents. Many sites like online banks, credit cards etc. are requiring us to create secure passwords with 1 number, one capital letter and/or special characters. It makes it harder to remember what password you used for what site, stack on top of that those secret questions which no longer just ask what is your mothers maiden name, and well I am sure you have forgotten one now and then. Or maybe you have a password file that is not encrypted and secured, or you have it on a piece of paper!
Not having your passwords, and or other vital important electronic information encrypted and secured is a potential disaster waiting to happen. Identity Theft is on the rise these days, and statistics show that typically it will occur from someone you already know.
So what can you do to encrypt and secure your passwords, and important electronic data.
This is what I have done, you can create a standard word doc file and place your passwords with what web site it is associated too, along with the answers to your security questions. Once your file is created you will use Cypherix LE to encrypt the file, and once it is save and Cypherix LE is closed you can no longer access the file and or even see it. The only way to get to the file is to start Cypherix LE and enter that one password you can remember. Now you only need to remember one password to get access to that data, and you know it is secure where nobody else can get to it.
Another great feature is you can save Cypherix LE to a USB flash stick and take it with you, or instead of storing it on your main computer, just have it on the USB flash stick. That way you have your passwords with you all the time. No need to worry about losing it either, as when the software is closed it securely encrypts the file and makes it not even viewable. The only way to even know your password file is on the flash stick is to run Cypherix and enter the main password.
If you have read any of my other computer articles you will know that I like programs that are free, and this one is also. Here is the link to find out more about the software http://cypherix.com/prods.htm
Now if you want to put it on a portable device to take with you, You can find many USB flash stick devices. You can get a 8gb USB flash stick for just about 20 bucks. A picture and a link to one is below.
